approach

Contemplation is a variety of practices that enable us to see, feel, and consider what is most important in our lives. Informal written reflection; meditation; movement; creative art/craft-based exercises are some forms of contemplation I use.

i offer

Contemplative practices lead to a deeper relationship with what’s important in our lives. It is a way of connecting with intuition and calm to bring more balance and clarity. I offer these practices as part of the coaching process and in stand-alone sessions in person or online.

what it can look like

meditation

If you have ever said, “I can’t meditate! I can’t stop my mind!” You may be trying too hard and with a mistaken idea of meditation. It’s not about stopping our thoughts, but making a new relationship with them. I offer both Buddhist calm-abiding meditation and reflections with guided imagery to build focus and commitment to specific life goals. The sessions are short and relaxed, and I guide each step.

written reflection

Written reflection allows you to put your thoughts on paper, “for yourself alone”, revealing inspiration as well as barriers to living fully. Sometimes writing slows us down enough to “hear ourselves think”--the first step in making a wise decision. I provide questions to start the process and further prompts to go deeper.

visual contemplation

Sometimes our thoughts, questions and insights need more than words. Intuitive drawing exercises provide a different form of expression. The result is a visual representation of important questions and challenges at work in your life. This is not a drawing class, nor is the result meant to be “artistic”, rather it’s a process that often reveals surprise, and an opening.
